Kevin and his friend Erica came home from BYU-Idaho this weekend to participate in the blessing of Kevin's newest neice, Hannah. While they were here they surprised us all by telling us that they had both decided to serve a mission! The biggest surprise though was that Kevin had already received his mission call, on June 18th, ---- to the Czech Prague Mission! We cried, cheered and cried some more. He leaves for the MTC on October 14, 2009!
Erica will be submitting her papers within a week or so and is looking forward to her call. We are so excited for both of them; for the things they will learn, the experiences they will have and the spirit they will feel as they share the gospel with others.

Wow! I can only imagine your surprise and your excitement and the peace you must feel now that you know Kevin is leaving for a mission! I am thrilled for him and for you too because I know that he will grow immeasurably and that you all will be very blessed. What a great day. Life is good, isn't it!
Well, I ran across your blog as I was looking to see if Karen had written anything yet about her week.(hint, hint,Karen. I see she just posted on your blog) What wonderful news! It seriously brought tears to my eyes. That is probably the best gift he could ever give you. You deserve this. It reaffirms that prayers are answered.
